BIOPAC Systems, Inc. creates scientific instrumentation that allows researchers to measure any kind of physiological signal from the body and then display and analyze the data.

The Challenge: When it became evident that there would be a shortage of ventilators to help coronavirus patients, CEO Frazer Findlay got to work. He knew his company could help speed up distribution with ventilator testing kits, which would fulfill a critical part of the production process.
Leadership Opportunity: "We put together a press release and got an immediate response," Findlay says. "It turns out big named companies - not at all associated with the medical arena - were opening their production facilities to help these small ventilator production companies scale up quickly. All of these companies began stepping up for the cause.
"Orders are coming into us now and we are really starting to ramp up to meet the needs," Findlay adds. "It feels good to be part of the solution; that's the most important thing
here, of course.
With the orders, BIOPAC has been able to maintain their workforce of 50 employees, who are scattered across the U.S., Europe and China. "And we are trying to keep everyone as upbeat as possible," he says. "We're also looking at opportunities. Since hospitals can't accommodate everyone, we're looking at how patients can use our devices at home."
